With 2017 well underway now and everyone slowly shaking off the festive lull, we are starting to get a clear picture of what 2017 might look like for YouTube. After YouTube had celebrated another year of service by releasing its 2017 version of YouTube Rewind which features the highlights of this year's channels, we are thrilled to anticipate more fresh concepts to come in this great media of the virtual world.
Last year, we found new channels, new contents, and new concepts, and this year we can only expect that YouTube would keep expanding and evolving in terms of its features and its available channels.
On that note, here is a list of channels, aside from Poppy, which I think have potential to grow—or grow even more—popularity in the next 12 months…

FIVE YOUTUBE CHANNELS THAT I RECOMMEND
1. Alltime10s
There is a channel on YouTube that tells the viewers some of most amazing things that pretty much anyone has ever seen or heard of. They take some of the most amazing topics and put them into a top 10 list. The stuff that they have on their channel is really amazing and is really interesting to learn about. They do top 10 lists of many different subjects and they have at least one video that everyone would love to watch, hence the name of their channel, Alltime10s. Some of these lists include: 10 Amazing Accidental Discoveries, 10 Creepiest Websites, and many, many more. I do not know about you, but some of the stuff they have in those videos are some information that I have never even heard of before and find it very interesting. Some of the stuff makes me wonder who in the world would make or do stuff like that. Once you watch one of the top 10 lists, you have to watch more because they are that good and that interesting. These lists are so interesting and intriguing. I highly recommend that you check them out. They also give an in depth explanation and they give you a background of why or how the stuff came to be. Check out their channel here: Alltime10s and let me know if you find anything interesting about their channel.
2. WatchMojo.com
WatchMojo is a video producer that mainly makes top 10 videos about movies, television, video games, and other miscellaneous topics. The sites YouTube has over 13 million subscribers and as of May 2016, is #34 on the YouTube Top Subscribed chart.
3. REACT
React is a media franchise used by the Fine Brothers consisting of several online series centering on a group of individuals reacting to viral videos, trends, video games, film trailers, or music videos. The franchise was launched with the YouTube debut of Kids React in October 2010, and then grew to encompass four more series uploaded on the Fine Brothers' primary YouTube channel, a separate YouTube channel with various reaction-related content, as well as a television series titled React to That.
4. Household Hacker
Household Hacker helps you create things utilizing items you find around your house—from kitchen hacks to creating 3-D videos, it is covered. Videos include How to Cook a Turkey Using a Light bulb and DVDR's, Charge your iPod with an Onion, and How to Remove Scratches from CD's and DVD's. Home DIY projects do not necessarily have to be massive undertakings. Household Hacker hosts a wide array of small projects and fun tutorials that will save you money and teach you some very useful skills around the house.
5. Crazy Russian Hacker
Makes me fall out of my chair laughing every time, but I learn something on the way down. This guy is so intense and has such a great accent that I can’t tell if he’s putting us on or not. Crazy Russian Hacker’s channel is primarily about science experiments, like this compilation of 10 experiments you can do at home, but he’s at his funniest, in my opinion, when he tells us what we’ve been doing wrong, like a video on how to properly eat a cupcake, how to dip an Oreo cookie in milk without getting your fingers wet, and how to most efficiently dispense your Tic Tacs.
So what makes these channels special?
There are so many YouTube channels that are available and are truly well-known, yet out of all those channels, why would I feature these five channels as those with great potentials to top the charts and dominate the rankings? Well, their concepts are somewhat unique and are very entertaining. Alltime10s presents 10 facts relevant to a topic that are very informative, hence the name "Alltime10s." WatchMojo.com has the same concept, which is to present facts or opinions regarding the topic presented. React does exactly what its channel name says: reacting to videos. This is a nice concept that enables viewers to be able to relate to other people and not feel alone when watching videos which is an alternative to the comments section. Household Hacker teaches us how to do things on our own allowing us to be creative and take on things in a different way—basically a D.I.Y channel. Crazy Russian Hacker, on the other hand, has a variety of concept, from "hacks" to showcasing gadgets of the same purpose. This channel is very diverse when it comes to content. These are the reasons why I think that these channels are special and may be this era's next channels that would conquer YouTube's top charts.
FIVE YOUTUBE CHANNELS THAT I THINK HAVE FAILED
Though there are many interesting YouTube channels and are entertaining to the mass, there are a lot of channels that serve no true purpose and may be considered as pure garbage as well. After presenting YouTube channels that I think have the potential to grow and become widely known in YouTube, I will give my insights regarding YouTube channels that I think are a failure.
1. Smosh
This channel does not satisfy my watching preferences. In fact, for me, its videos are pointless—or maybe it just does not suffice my own preferences. For me, it also does not show really good manners in its videos and it is not a good channel especially for kids.
2. Machinima
Machinima is a gaming channel based on the videos that I have watched from them. But as a lad who also loves gaming, I would not recommend this channel for such because it does not serve the purpose properly. Honestly speaking, I did not like their videos about gaming because it is not that entertaining and educational in terms of games.
3. Jinx
Honestly speaking, for me, this YouTube channel is really nonsense. This channel only re-streams YouTube videos without any permission from the original publishers and reacts to them, which for me, is unethical and not proper. The YouTuber's reactions do not give satisfaction to me at the same time that is why I really do not want to recommend this channel at all.
4. Sam
This channel shows sexual assault to women which is what I really did not like at all. I am sure that our parents teach us to respect everybody, especially women, and here comes this YouTube channel that does it for the sake of having a video uploaded to YouTube. I would not recommend this channel at all because of its content.
5. Brittany Venti
This YouTube channel gives no education and entertainment at all— basically nonsense. I am very sorry to say this, but this channel only displays a bad example to children. It shows stupidity and nonsense all throughout its videos.
So what maKES these channels A FAILURE?
Although every channel has an essence for its existence, there are some that are just stupid that aims only to leech money off of YouTube with its worthless content. These channels have failed due to its absurdity. They do not exist for he viewers; they exist for themselves. Furthermore, what they portray is inappropriate and is something that should not be emulated. Some are misleading, content thieves, sexual abusers—or just plain dumb and stupid. This is not the essence of being a YouTuber. Maybe they do have some videos that are actually enlightening and entertaining, but majority of what they post are appalling. These are the kinds of YouTube channels that people should steer clear of. They have no originality and their videos do not show a hint of creativity. These are the reasons why these channels have come to naught.
